Welcome to the ARTILUME Mini Rotary Attachment manual. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for hardware setup, roller spacing adjustment, machine positioning, and software configuration across supported laser engraver models (T1, U1, and A4).
1. Package Contents & Specifications
Before assembly, verify that your package includes the following components:
- Rotary Attachment Base: Equipped with 130 mm rubber rollers offering 2 adjustable spacing positions to support both cylindrical and tapered/conical objects (e.g., tumblers, mugs, and cups). Maximum load capacity: 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs).
- Riser Legs: 25 mm diameter, maximum stackable height 80 mm (used to elevate the laser frame).
-
Connecting Cables (3 included):
- Cable A: Adapter cable for third-party motor compatibility.
- Cable B: For T1 and A4 models.
- Cable C: For U1 models.
- Hex Wrench & Hardware: For roller spacing adjustment and assembly.
2. Adjusting Roller Spacing (Step 1)
Adjust the distance between rollers based on the diameter of your object:
- Place your object between the rollers to check whether the spacing provides stable support without causing the object to sit too high.
- If adjustment is needed, use the hex wrench to loosen and remove the screw on the adjustable rear support bracket.
- Slide the adjustable roller to set the proper distance relative to the fixed roller, then tighten the locking screw.
- Adjust the belt tension pulley assembly so the timing belt remains taut, then tighten the locking bolt.
- Rotate one roller by hand to ensure the second roller and motor pulley turn smoothly together. If movement feels stiff, slightly reduce belt tension.

3. Machine Setup & Placement (Step 2)
- Place the laser engraver on a flat, level surface and disconnect the Y-axis stepper motor cable.
- Install 4 equal-height riser legs under the corners of the machine frame to elevate it. (Note: The T1 model is not compatible with riser legs and does not require them.)
- Position the rotary attachment underneath the frame and connect the machine's Y-axis motor cable to the rotary motor.
- Align the rotary attachment so the object's axis runs parallel to the X-axis, ensuring the laser beam hits perpendicular to the top center of the object.
Note: Select riser height based on the diameter and length of the object being engraved.
4. Model-Specific Setup & Focusing (Steps 3–5)
Follow the specific alignment and focusing steps for your laser model:
T1 Model Setup (Step 3)
- Position the rotary attachment as shown in Figure 3, with the motor on the left side.
- Place the focal positioning block as shown in Figure 4 to adjust the focus.
- Once connected, no software parameter adjustments are required for the T1.

U1 Model Setup (Step 4)
- Position the rotary attachment as shown in Figure 5, with the motor on the right side.
- Place the focal positioning block as shown in Figure 6 to adjust the focus.

A4 Model Setup (Step 5)
- Position the rotary attachment as shown in Figure 7, with the motor on the right side.
- Place the focal positioning block as shown in Figure 8 to adjust the focus.

5. Installing Riser Legs (Step 6)
Riser leg installation varies by model:
- A4 Model: Screw the riser legs into the four support feet, then secure them using the included lock nuts.
- U1 Model: No nuts required. Screw the riser legs directly into the built-in threaded mounting holes on the feet.
- T1 Model: Riser legs are not required.

6. Software Configuration Guide (Step 7)
Important Note: T1 model users do not need to change any software settings.
LightBurn Settings (U1 Model)
- Open Rotary Setup in LightBurn.
- Select Roller type and toggle on Enable Rotary.
- Set Rotary Axis to Z Axis.
- Set parameters: mm per rotation =
40.00, Roller Diameter =12.700 mm.

LightBurn Settings (A4 Model)
- Open Rotary Setup in LightBurn.
- Select Roller type and toggle on Enable Rotary.
- Set Rotary Axis to Y Axis.
- Set parameters: mm per rotation =
40.00, Roller Diameter =12.700 mm.

LaserGRBL Settings (A4 Model)
When using LaserGRBL, calculate the Y-axis step value ($101) using this formula:
4250 ÷ Object Diameter (mm) = Value
Type $101=[Value] into the console and press Enter.
Note: $101 configures the Y-axis steps per mm. After completing rotary engraving, enter $101=80 in the console to restore default factory settings.

CutLabX Mobile App Settings (U1 Model)
- In the CutLabX app, open Roller Settings and select Y-axis.
- Enable Enable Rotation.
- Set Roller diameter to
12.70 mm. - Set Angle/revolution (mm per rotation) to
40.00 mm.
