2. Component Introduction
Familiarize yourself with the structure of your Artilume T1 engraver:
- Main Body Interface: Includes the Power button, Power socket, Indicator light, and Interface connector.

- Multiple Laser Module Options: The T1 offers various module choices, including 2.5W/3W, 6W/7W (Blue Diode Laser), and 1064nm-1W (Infrared Laser), to accommodate different engraving needs

3. First-Time Use & Quick Assembly
The Artilume T1 features an innovative foldable design, eliminating the need for tedious screw assembly. It can be unfolded and ready to use in just a few steps.
3.1 Unfolding the Engraver Body
(1) T1-P (Enclosure + App): Take out the engraver.

(2) T1 Engraver Unfolding Steps:
- Unfold the X-axis: Unfold the front and rear ends of the X-axis in sequence to form a 90-degree right angle.
- Secure the Main Body: Push the top part towards the X-axis, rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise, and tighten the thumbscrew shown in the figure to secure the body.

3.2 Removing Limit Switch Protective Stickers
Important Note: After assembly, you MUST remove the protective stickers from the two limit switches (positions ① and ②) on the machine; otherwise, the machine will not be able to home properly.

3.3 Installing the Laser Module & Focusing
- Install the Module: Slide the laser module down into the slot on the machine head.
- Secure the Module: Tighten the thumbscrew on the side to prevent the laser module from falling off during operation.
- Connect Cables: Plug the laser module connection cable into the corresponding port.
- Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the machine body, and use the USB data cable to connect the machine to your computer.
- Place the material you want to engrave directly under the machine body.
- Place the 2mm Focus Assist block between the engraving material and the laser module.
- Loosen the side thumbscrew and gently slide the laser module down until its bottom edge lightly touches the Focus Assist block.
- Tighten the thumbscrew on the laser module to secure it, and then BE SURE to remove the Focus Assist block.

3.4 Using the T1 Protective Cover as a Riser
The T1 protective cover can also be used as a riser for the engraver to accommodate taller objects.

4. Software Setup
The Artilume T1 is compatible with mainstream engraving software (LightBurn & LaserGRBL) and supports both Windows and macOS systems. The T1-P (App version) can be paired with our dedicated mobile App.
4.1 Software Download
- LightBurn (Recommended/Professional Version): Supports macOS / Windows. Visit the official website to download the trial version: https://lightburnsoftware.com/
- LaserGRBL (Free Version): Supports Windows only. Visit the official website to download: https://lasergrbl.com/download/
4.2 Installing the Driver (CH340 Driver)
If this is your first time connecting, you may need to install the CH340 driver.
- Method 1: Using LaserGRBL as an example: Click on Tools -> Install CH340 Driver in the software's top menu bar. Restart your computer after the installation is complete.
- Method 2: If you cannot install the driver using Method 1, you can download the appropriate driver for your operating system from our official website. Download Center: Download Center – ARTILUME.
4.3 Connecting the Device (LightBurn & LaserGRBL)
-
Open LightBurn, click "Devices" in the bottom right corner, and then select "Find My Laser" or "Manual Creation."

6. Start Your First Engraving
6.1 Importing & Adjusting the Design
- Click File -> Import to bring in the image you want to engrave (supports JPG, PNG, DXF, SVG formats, etc.).
- Adjust the dimensions (Width / Height) of your design using the top toolbar.
6.2 Enabling the "Fire" Function (For Precise Positioning)
To easily observe where the laser will hit, you can enable the low-power fire function:
- Click the small wrench icon (Settings) in the top menu bar.
- Go to Basic Settings, check the Enable Laser Fire Button box, set the Laser On When Framing power to 1%, and click OK.
- In the top menu under Window, check the Move panel. A Fire button will now appear in the Move panel; click it to turn on the low-power laser.
6.3 Setting Parameters & Framing
- Parameter Settings: Double-click the corresponding layer in the right-hand panel (Cuts / Layers) to set the appropriate Speed and Max Power based on your material. (Refer to the parameter table in Section 8).
- Origin Alignment: In the bottom right corner, set "Start From" to Absolute Coordinates, and set the Job Origin to the bottom left corner.
- Homing & Framing: Click Home to return the laser head to the zero position, then click Frame. The laser will trace the actual engraving boundary of the design. You can adjust the position of your material based on this light path.
6.4 Preview & Engrave
Click the monitor icon to enter the Preview screen. Once you have confirmed the engraving path and estimated time are correct, put on your safety goggles and click Start to begin engraving!
7. Storage & Organization
The beauty of the Artilume T1 is that it can be easily stored away after use, saving you space:
- Loosen the ring thumbscrew on the machine head.
- Rotate the machine head clockwise so it is parallel to the Y-axis.
- Press the spring button at the folding joint and rotate to fold it, collapsing the machine into a compact state.

8. Specifications & Parameters
(Tip: The parameters below are suggested values. In practice, if the edges are scorched or blackened, you can slightly increase the speed or decrease the power; if the engraving is too shallow, decrease the speed or increase the power.)

9. Safety Instructions
When using this product, please strictly adhere to the following safety guidelines to prevent property damage or personal injury:
- Goggles Protection: This machine utilizes a Class 4 laser with high energy. You MUST wear laser safety goggles during operation. Direct skin contact with the laser beam is strictly prohibited.
- Fire Safety: Laser processing generates high temperatures, and some materials may catch fire or produce smoke. NEVER leave the machine unattended while running. Keep flammable and explosive materials away from the work area, and having a fire extinguisher nearby is highly recommended.
- Ventilation: Irritating gases may be produced during the engraving process. Please operate the machine in a well-ventilated environment.
- Material Restrictions: Engraving materials with unknown properties is strictly prohibited. We do not recommend directly engraving reflective metals or transparent materials. (If you need to engrave clear glass or acrylic, please blacken the surface with a dry-erase marker first).
- Age Restrictions: Use by children under 14 is prohibited. Minors must operate the machine under adult supervision.
